Unboxing My First Submission to PCGS - Copper 1983 Penny

Hi All,

My error coin just arrived back from PCGS. Here is a video of me unboxing the potential Copper 1983 Penny. Enjoy! At the time of filming I also didn't know if this would be authentic or not.

Possible 1983 Copper Penny Found Coin Roll Hunting

Posting a quick video of a possible 1983 Copper penny found around March 2022. I did a little research on how to submit it to a grading company. But that turned out to be more than I had time for, so I put it in a 2x2 flip and sort of forgot it with all the other things going on.

Fast forward a couple years...

This coin is currently on the way to PCGS and I'm really excited to learn if it's authentic and how it grades.

Coin Roll Hunting Tips: Edge Hunting vs. Checking dates

I created this video in response to a YouTube subscribers question regarding Coin Roll Hunting. Essentially what is the best way to coin roll hunt, Edge hunt only or Date Check all coins.

I have also proposed this topic to a number of coin collecting forums.

Personally my process for CRHing dimes, quarters, and half dollars is to edge hunt and then date check coins that appear to be AU or better.

A lot of people commented that date hunting is the only way to Coin Roll Hunt. Otherwise you risk missing Coin errors, varieties, doubled dies, and more.

Where do you stand on this? Leave a comment below.

Penny Error 1957 D - Double Die or Machine Doubling

Stumbled upon this coin while putting a pile of wheat pennies into jars by decades.  There is clearly something going on with the Obverse.  The front of Lincolns face, and parts of the date show signs of what i would call doubling.  The doubling is most pronounced on Lincoln's face, the date also has minor doubling but you need a loupe to really see this.

The Reverse does not have any doubling.  There are a couple areas on the Reverse that have wear.  Just under the "E" in ONE, and below the America between the wheat stocks at the bottom.

Take A Look.  And Let Me Know What You Think.  Double Die or Machine Doubling?

**Update New Photos Below**
As requested I have taken 7 new pictures.  These were all taken looking at the coin directly overhead.  I also was unable to make use of the magnifying glass.  The original pictures can be found at the bottom of this post.
